The Challenge/Ask
M&M Bank had been doing business on the Gulf Coast for years, but they needed a new way to connect with customers and the larger community. It wasn’t enough to do good business, they needed a way to stand out and return them to their roots.
They tasked us to use our bank digital marketing services to distinguish M&M Bank as a stand-out financial institution in the Gulf Coast Community through a total rebrand. We decided they needed to go into their future by returning them to their past.
What We Did
Although originally founded as Merchant’s & Marine Bank, when they came to us, they were going by M&M Bank. To celebrate their long legacy as the pillar of the community, we knew we had to revert them back to their original namesake. Taking this new (old) name and bring it to life through a refreshed website and organic social media plan allowed the new brand vision to shine and highlight their community, relationships, and personal service.
In all, we developed a new logo and brand mark, website, brand strategy and organic social media tactics.

The updated brand elements tied to Merchants & Marine Bank’s Gulf Coast roots. With sails representing the historical merchant ships, we see them move in an upward trajectory to the right, symbolizing growth and the constant push towards improvement.
The new website launched in tandem with the refreshed brand and serves as both a show piece and hub for clients to access information and banking tools.
This quickly became more apparent for customers and business and brand perception completely changed for the better.
It goes against conventional logic, but sometimes, you have to go backwards to go forwards. For Merchants & Marine Bank, this was the perfect way to move into the future.
